What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a common ingredient in skin care products. It is used primarily in moisturizers, lotions, and serums for its ability to hydrate the skin.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan that occurs naturally in the skin, connective tissue, eyes, and joints. Because it has "acid" in its name, it is often mistaken for an exfoliating ingredient like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. However, it has nothing to do with alpha- or beta-hydroxy acids.
How does hyaluronic acid work?
Hyaluronic acid attracts water from the dermis and moves it to the skin's surface in the epidermis. It and other glycosaminoglycans also play a role in skin elasticity and tone, cell metabolism, regeneration, and healing. As we age, hyaluronic acid levels in the skin naturally decline. The skin does not produce it as efficiently as it once did. This is partly why skin becomes thinner and drier as we age. To prevent this, it's essential to use a face cream with hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid helps replenish and retain cellular moisture, which promotes skin hydration. It accelerates wound healing and prevents the appearance of premature wrinkles. Unlike some other skincare ingredients, hyaluronic acid is quickly absorbed by the skin, meaning you waste less product. Importantly, this ingredient is non-irritating: it's safe for all skin types and is especially beneficial for dry skin.
Hyaluronic acid is undoubtedly one of the most well-known skincare ingredients. You may have even already tested the LIBREDERM hyaluronic activator serum, which has a weightless texture, absorbs instantly, and creates the perfect base for makeup.
Types of Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid comes in three types: high molecular weight, medium molecular weight, and low molecular weight. Only low molecular weight hyaluronic acid penetrates the deep layers of the epidermis, retains moisture within the cells, resulting in increased skin elasticity and smoothed fine wrinkles.
Hyaluronic Care Program: 2 Steps
The cosmetic market is currently amazingly diverse. To navigate it more easily and choose the right products, it is important to know that competent and effective care is based on three pillars: cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. And don't forget about sunscreen.

Step 1. Cleansing
The first step - cleansing - is one of the most important. The effectiveness of the subsequent steps will depend on how you cleanse your skin. You need to cleanse your skin twice a day. Do not neglect morning cleansing: sebum is produced overnight. In the evening, be sure to cleanse the skin of environmental impurities and cosmetics.
Cleansing should be deep, but at the same time gentle: the ultra-soft hyaluronic gel-scrub for washing from LIBREDERM will cope with this task. Thanks to the formula containing sugar surfactant and delicate jojoba wax granules, the skin will be clean and smooth. Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid in the composition will help to avoid an unpleasant feeling of tightness after washing.

Step 2. Basic care
After the skin is completely cleansed, we move on to the basic care, which consists of toning, applying serum and / or cream.
Toning care
Moisturizing hyaluronic toner from LIBREDERM removes cleanser residue from the skin surface and restores the pH of the skin. The toner also prepares the skin for the application of serums and creams, acting as an enhancer, that is, a conductor of active ingredients from subsequent care products.
Intensive Care
First, apply the LIBREDERM Hyaluronic Acid Serum-Activator, which, in addition to low-molecular hyaluronic acid, contains active ingredients to increase the elasticity and smoothness of the skin, help reduce the depth and surface area of wrinkles, and enhance the synthesis of the skin's own hyaluronic acid. After the serum has been absorbed, move on to applying the cream or you can leave the serum alone on the skin.
Basic Care
Complete the morning care ritual with a moisturizing cream with hyaluronic acid from LIBREDERM. Thanks to its high content of natural antioxidants and phytosterols, the cream prevents the premature appearance of wrinkles, stimulates skin regeneration, and protects against the negative impact of environmental factors.
We complete our evening skincare ritual with the LIBREDERM Hydrobalance Night Hyaluronic Cream. At night, the skin begins its regenerative processes, making it more receptive to active ingredients. Therefore, the Hydrobalance Cream is rich in active ingredients that maintain skin hydration overnight, as well as providing antioxidant, regenerating, and rejuvenating effects. Remember that care is needed not only for the face; the neck and décolleté also require it.
