Eyebrow care after permanent makeup

Unlike tattooing, tattooing uses less durable pigments and is significantly A more superficial application. Its durability is achieved by introducing special pigments into the upper layers of the skin using ultra-fine needles and various techniques (powder, hair, spraying, microblading, etc.). Although modern tattooing equipment allows for minimal trauma to the skin, the length of the recovery period can depend on the technique used, as damage is still inevitable. However, the most important factor in achieving excellent tattooing results is successful and timely restoration of damaged skin, which requires understanding the key stages of healing and proper post-procedure care. Let's look at these issues using eyebrow tattooing as an example.Proper care after tattooing includes the use of a regenerating cream

Healing stages

The overall skin recovery period for the vast majority of people takes about a month. During the first 24 hours after tattooing, redness and swelling of the skin are observed, sometimes the upper eyelids may also swell. This is completely normal, but its severity may be more pronounced in people with sensitive skin or a tendency to swelling. To reduce the severity of swelling, it is recommended to sleep with the head end elevated. Also, pinpoint fluid (lymph) secretion appears in the treated area. To prevent the formation of rough crusts, gently blot them with a cotton pad soaked in an alcohol-free antiseptic solution. This will also help prevent infection and suppuration of the skin.

The First Day After Tattooing

Proper care after permanent tattooing includes the use of a regenerating and protective cream. Apply it several times a day (3 or more) in a thin layer after each treatment with an antiseptic solution. This frequency of use prevents dryness and peeling of the skin, as well as the formation of a protective barrier. However, avoid using thick, greasy ointments, as they can clog the sebaceous glands and lead to the development of inflammatory rashes.

Preference should be given to specialized products. Never use your usual moisturizing cream - damaged skin can react with severe irritation, an allergic reaction, or even inflammation, which, in addition to prolonging skin recovery, can lead to pigment rejection and an unsatisfactory result of the procedure.

Librederm Skinoplast Duo Restorative Balm contains chlorhexidine

The first week after tattooing

During the first week, eyebrow care after tattooing continues in the form of careful treatment with an antiseptic and restorative cream. Depending on the healing rate, the frequency of antiseptic treatments can be reduced after 3-4 days. When using LIBREDERM SKINOPLAST DUO restorative balm, it is recommended to use only it, as it contains chlorhexidine in addition to active regenerating and soothing components. It is recommended to avoid washing the area for the first 5-7 days after tattooing. Hot baths/showers, steam rooms/saunas, vigorous physical activity, and swimming should also be avoided. This will help prevent irritation, inflammation, and infection. If, after several days, swelling, redness, or lymphatic drainage continue or intensify, accompanied by pain, be sure to consult a dermatologist.

Despite careful and proper care after tattooing, thin crusts may form on the eyebrows. This is normal—they will gradually peel off on their own. Avoid forcibly removing the scabs, do not try to get rid of them yourself! This can lead to inflammation, the formation of wounds, persistent redness, a long recovery period, and uneven distribution of pigment.

The second week after tattooing

At the beginning of the second week, peeling and slight itching usually appear in the tattoo area. With timely application of a restorative product and maintaining a moisturized skin, the itching does not bother. It disappears as the scabs peel off and reflects the active healing process. During this time, gentle washing with a mild cleanser is allowed. After washing, the tattoo area is gently patted dry with a soft towel (without rubbing).

In the vast majority of cases, the scabs completely peel off after 10-14 days. However, skin tightness and mild itching may persist, so it is recommended to continue applying the regenerating cream 2-3 times a day. Two weeks after permanent eyebrow tattooing, you should no longer experience any discomfort. However, it's important to remember that the skin has not yet fully recovered; it remains delicate, prone to injury and dryness. Therefore, if necessary, you can continue applying the restorative cream twice a day. Be careful when choosing makeup—you can resume it no earlier than two weeks after the procedure and only after normal healing, no crusting, or skin irritation. When returning to your daily skincare routine, be careful when applying creams and serums containing active ingredients (especially AHA acids, retinol, and essential oils)—they can cause severe irritation and swelling in the treated areas. Two weeks after tattooing, you may need to remove hairs. This should be done after the scabs have completely fallen off, so as not to increase the trauma from the main procedure and not to slow down the healing process.

A month after tattooing

A month after eyebrow tattooing, no care is required. The eyebrow color returns to its final state. During this period, the tattoo artist usually invites you for an examination to assess the final result and decide on further eyebrow correction for a more uniform, even, long-lasting coloring or to refine their shape.

Skin care tips after permanent makeup

During the entire recovery period, avoid exposure to the sun or solarium as much as possible. Remember that the skin is still vulnerable to ultraviolet radiation. In addition, the pigment itself can accumulate solar energy, which can result in severe burns. Additionally, this has a destructive effect on the pigment, which loses its properties and, ultimately, the eyebrow color risks becoming faded and uneven. Sunscreen is recommended to continue using to maintain the rich color of your eyebrows for a long time.

Therefore, with proper aftercare after permanent makeup, you will quickly and effectively restore your skin, and the results will last a long time.
