Sunscreen for the face: which one to choose, protection factor, application rules.

And yet, the consequences of prolonged and uncontrolled exposure to sunlight are extremely negative. Photodamage to the skin triggers a cascade of cellular and tissue changes, leading both to its photoaging and, unfortunately, to malignant tumors. Thanks in large part to timely consultations with a dermatologist and educational materials, more and more people understand the need to use sunscreen when exposed to the sun. However, improper use of sunscreen can ruin all your efforts to avoid the unwanted effects of UV radiation.

What is SPF?

Sun protection factor (SPF) is a product's ability to protect the skin from redness after exposure to UV rays. In theory, a product with SPF 10 allows you to stay in the sun ten times longer than without this protection. However, it is important to keep in mind that SPF levels are determined in laboratory conditions, where the cream is applied at a dose of 2 mg/cm2. In everyday life, the application density is four times lower! The level of protection also depends on the frequency of application, phototype, and sun activity, so the recommended SPF 30+ level does not always guarantee safety. Products with SPF 50+ help provide adequate protection even with insufficient application density. This is especially true for such sensitive areas of the skin as the nose, cheeks, ears, neck, shoulders, chest, and areas with moles.

Rules for using sunscreen:

  • Choose products depending on your skin phototype (for example, people with red hair and blond hair do not tolerate active sun well and are more prone to skin burns and pigmentation), the intensity of UV radiation (it is important to consider the region) and the duration of exposure to the sun. It is recommended to use products with a higher SPF level to ensure adequate skin protection.
  • Sunscreen application should be continuous during active solar radiation, which begins in late spring.
  • Sunscreen should contain filters against UVA and UVB rays.
  • It is best to apply the product 15-20 minutes before leaving the house or exposure to the sun.
  • Apply a sufficient amount of sunscreen. The "two-finger rule" is the most convenient. Apply the cream along the entire length of the index and middle fingers - this is the amount needed for each area: face and neck, one arm, upper or lower back, upper or lower torso, one leg up to the knee, one leg below the knee.
  • Regular sunscreens are washed off, rubbed off with a towel, sand, or sweat, which requires reapplication every 2 hours. For children, reapplying sunscreen after any activity, regardless of its SPF level, is necessary.
  • Foundations with SPF 15+ do not provide adequate protection; the minimum recommended SPF level is 30+.

Sun protection and skin type: Mattifying cream SPF 50

When answering the question “which sunscreen to choose,” it is important to consider the type and age of your skin. Thus, for children, as well as for those with sensitive skin, it is strictly recommended to use a sunscreen with SPF 50+! Those with dry skin should prefer cream-based products, while acne-prone skin should choose lightweight, non-comedogenic textures. Librederm International Laboratory takes a personalized approach to choosing sunscreen and presents a new addition to the Bronzeada line: a mattifying sunscreen with SPF 50. It contains natural skincare ingredients that moisturize, nourish, and strengthen the skin's protective barrier, preventing premature aging. This includes Inca Inchi oil, which protects the hydrolipidic mantle from dehydration and improves skin elasticity and firmness. Vitamin E and grapeseed oil provide powerful antioxidant protection, intensively nourishing, softening, and soothing the skin. Thermal water activates the skin's regeneration process, helping to maintain hydration. Importantly, the cream has a mattifying and sebum-regulating effect and can also be used as a makeup base.

Tinted Cream SPF 50

Those with dry and sensitive skin will appreciate the Bronzeada tinted sunscreen SPF 30. It provides high protection from UVA and UVB rays, helping prevent pigmentation, dry wrinkles, and other signs of aging caused by sun exposure. This cream has a light tinting effect, evens out skin tone, and conceals imperfections. This cream allows you to reduce the number of products you use in the summer, combining SPF protection, moisturizing, and foundation in one cream. The cream is easy to apply to the skin, is quickly absorbed and does not leave a greasy shine.

Sunscreen against age spots with SPF 50

Sunscreen against age spots with SPF 50 for the face is ideal for women and men whose skin is particularly prone to pigmentation and freckles. In addition to a complex of sunscreen filters, the cream contains vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that protects skin cells from premature aging, oat extract, which relieves irritation and soothes the skin, argan oil, which moisturizes and nourishes, restores the epidermal barrier, and jojoba oil, which improves photostability.

All Bronzeada LIBREDERM products have been clinically tested and have proven effectiveness and protection against the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays. All you have to do is choose a product according to your individual needs and enjoy sunbathing without risking your health.
