Traveling can be a real challenge for your skin. To avoid this, it is important to properly prepare it for the flight and restore it afterwards. We'll tell you how to prevent dryness and puffiness from ruining your long-awaited vacation.
My skin gets really dry during flights. How can I combat this?
Planes are a common means of transportation for us these days. But it's important to get into the habit of taking care of your skin before you fly. As we soar several thousand meters into the sky, our bodies, and skin in particular, are under strain. Airplane cabins have low humidity, and skin is constantly feeling dry, especially on long flights. I never recommend any skin care during a flight, as it's unhygienic and ineffective. It's best to prepare your skin well in advance of your flight. To prevent your skin from becoming dehydrated after your flight, to avoid feeling tight, fine wrinkles, flaking, redness, or a dull complexion, I suggest choosing the hyaluronic acid collection from the pharmacy brand LIBREDERM to prepare your skin before your flight.
●Foam.Don't skip the first important step of your skin care routine—cleansing. Foam with hyaluronic acid is quite light, cleanses the skin well, doesn't dry it out, and is suitable for all skin types. Thanks to the moisturizing components in the composition, already at the cleansing stage the product cares for the skin and prepares it for the application of subsequent care products.
●Tonik.Toning is an essential step after cleansing the skin. With the help of a toner, we complete the cleansing procedure, remove the remains of the foam, and also balance the pH of the skin to physiological values so that the serums and creams applied later are well absorbed and work much more effectively.
●Serum. After the toner, we move on to the stage of intensive action on the skin, we apply the serum. Serum isn't just an SOS solution for quickly solving skin problems. It also acts as an activator: it deeply and long-lastingly moisturizes the skin, stimulates the production of its own hyaluronic acid, and, importantly, stimulates the production of lipids, improving the skin's barrier function. The barrier function of the skin is the beauty of our skin. Thanks to an intact epidermal barrier, the skin looks smooth, well-groomed, and makeup adheres well.
●Moisturizing cream.Once the serum has spread and been absorbed, you can begin the main care - applying LIBREDERM hyaluronic moisturizing cream for the face, neck, and décolleté. These two areas require close attention, because they suffer just as much during a flight as the skin of the face. The cream contains low-molecular hyaluronic acid, which attracts and retains moisture in the deep layers of the skin. It also contains Omega 3-6-9 from camelina oil. The fatty acid composition of this oil includes linoleic and linolenic fatty acids, which are related to the skin, which protect the hydrolipidic mantle of the skin.
If you thoroughly cleanse your skin before a flight, use a toner, apply an activating serum and “seal” it with a moisturizer, then this care is enough for the entire flight to ensure that the skin feels comfortable, does not dry out, does not lose moisture and does not age.

After a flight, I often encounter swelling on my face. How to get rid of them quickly? Many people complain of swelling not only in their legs and body, but also in their face after a flight, especially a long one. To prevent this from happening, especially under the eyes, I recommend using a product with a pronounced drainage effect that is convenient to carry with you – a hyaluronic gel patch. It’s convenient because you don’t need to stick it on. This gel-textured product comes in a vacuum bottle with a convenient dispenser. Apply the gel patch in a thick layer to the lower eyelids and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then, you can remove any excess or spread the gel over your face. The gel patch effectively reduces puffiness within 15 minutes after application. Incidentally, it absorbs well into the skin and moisturizes it. After applying it, you can apply makeup and feel comfortable. The LIBREDERM gel patch is a 2-in-1 product: it simultaneously moisturizes and restores the skin of the eyelids, while also reducing puffiness. You can put the gel patch bottle in the refrigerator and apply the product while it's cold. This will help relieve morning puffiness or evening fatigue faster.

Should I apply any cosmetics during the flight if I don't have any skin problems?
I don't recommend applying any products during the flight, especially if you have skin conditions such as rosacea, couperose, or breakouts. I don't recommend touching your face at all during the flight, as it's unhygienic.
You can't properly cleanse your face without thoroughly washing your hands. The cleansing step affects how well the product is absorbed. Applying makeup on a plane without washing, especially with dirty hands, risks the opposite effect. Instead of moisturizing your skin, you could end up with inflammation and irritation.
I have an overnight flight ahead of me. How should I properly prepare my skin to avoid dryness and discomfort?
If you have an overnight flight ahead of you, I recommend thoroughly cleansing your skin right beforehand. Remove any remaining makeup and SPF with a foam from the LIBREDERM hyaluronic collection, then apply a hyaluronic toner. After this, apply the serum and seal it with a night cream.
The night cream contains not only low-molecular hyaluronic acid, which attracts and retains moisture in the deep layers of the skin, but also a special form of glutamic acid, which restores the epidermal barrier, reducing transepidermal water loss and improving skin texture. Before an overnight flight, this will be enough to keep the skin hydrated.

Should you wear makeup on a flight?
I strongly recommend avoiding makeup during flights. To maintain healthy skin, it is best to prepare your skin for the flight in advance by following a properly selected skin care routine.
Skin care before and after the flight includes thorough cleansing, toning, moisturizing with a serum, and applying a day or night cream. I do not recommend using facial scrubs before and after the flight, as the procedure can disrupt the skin's barrier functions. It is necessary to restore the skin by gently acting on it. A good solution would be to use masks after the flight. These can be moisturizing and restorative masks.

During the flight, not only the skin suffers, but also the mucous membrane of the eyes, which also becomes dehydrated. Mascara can worsen dryness, and if you touch or scratch your eyes, the skin on your eyelids can also be damaged. To avoid this, I recommend moisturizing your eyelids the day before your flight. Before the flight, apply a moisturizer, and after the flight, a gel patch with a pronounced drainage effect to reduce puffiness and help your face "recover." This is especially true for those with deformed-edematous eyes: such faces swell quite significantly during the flight.

I often see how makeup products dry out the skin even more. They draw moisture from the skin's surface onto themselves. This is another reason not to apply makeup before a flight. Foundation can sometimes be heavy on the face, can cause breakouts and redness on the skin, and can also clog pores.
